On this episode of the NP Dude, I touch on my credentialing experience and some basic information about obtaining your NPI, the CAQH application, and organizing your professional information to make the process easier.  This is good primer for MSN students who are about to be done and will be entering the NP job market soon.  Please have a listen and provide comments below, email me at jeff@thenpdude.com, or comment on the Facebook page.  Don’t forget to like and share me with your friends and keep the show ideas coming!

  1. Hi Jeff,
I am a new grad and just passed my AGNP boards. I am now studying for the PMHNP boards as I did a dual specialty. I just listened to your episode on “credentialing” which I thought was awesome!! Someone posted on FB the steps to follow once you pass boards in which I printed, but misplaced, so this information is very much appreciated.

    Thank you!!!

  2. Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. Don’t forget to like and share on Facebook and ask some questions!

  3. Jeff,
OMG you are a godsend. New grad NP in Ohio also. What is up with the board?
I can’t get any answers. I have AANP #. Now what? They say first of April before they will process because of their changes.
I am also interested in addiction did work with preceptor, any jobs out there ? I have interviewed with a plastic surgeon doing wound care but I have to license in Penn and WVA. PIA for sure. I am listening to your podcast for my Medicare number. Wish I heard your cast first. Thank you so much!!
Question… should ask this MD to reimburse for the extra licenses?

  4. Connie…Thank you for the kind words! Stay tuned, I will address these issues on today’s show. Don’t forget to like the Facebook page and share with all of your friends!

  5. I was also going to suggest case logs (Typhon) for NPs, since you mentioned your physician brother’s requirement. Also, after completing CAQH or DEA application (or any document that requires precise dates that may be sometime in the past), print and copy and protect in plastic to use as a reference…nothing worse than trying to remember dates and details you haven’t dealt with for some time!
