Today is a short show where I give my take on the proposed American Health Care Act and why this proposed law really doesn’t change much.  Thanks again for spreading the word and keep on liking and sharing the show on Facebook!  Remember to tell your friends to check me out on iTunes and you can always send show ideas to me at Jeff@TheNPDude.com.

  1. I’m an FNP student and am new to your blog. I have really liked listening to your podcasts and I am learning a lot. Thanks for that. On this post, I have to disagree with you on a few points. You mention that while you used to be a political junkie, you haven’t been watching the news recently because nothing is really going on. There is actually a lot going on, especially in regards to the Trump administration. You mentioned that you used to watch CNN and FOX. I can understand that you may not be aware of all that is going on with Trump if you watch FOX, as much of the truth is omitted from their coverage. May I suggest you include viewing of MSNBC. You also state that not much is different with Trumpcare when compared to Obamacare. There are actually many differences including the change in mental health coverage which you is outlined in this video. https://www.facebook.com/CongressmanJoeKennedyIII/videos/1555764937878395/?pnref=story

It also prevents any federal money from going to organizations that provide abortions. This is directly against Planned Parenthood and WOMEN! It is already a law that PP cannot use any federal funds for abortions, but Trumpcare cuts any funding to them due to the fact that they do preform abortions. Abortions account for only 3% of PP services. They will, however, loose ALL funding with Trumpcare. HUGE CHANGE!

Trumpcare also will also phase out the Medicaid expansion that was allowed for under Obamacare, beginning in 2020. More that 11 million poor Americans were helped by this expansion under Obamacare. HUGE CHANGE!

I thank you for all the information that you are providing, I just ask that you consider other points of view.

    Peace and Love,

    Amie
